| Awards for Excellence Black and Asian Service in Alcohol and Narcotics (BASIAN)
Noted for its faith-based approach to drug intervention, BASIAN has helped many families cope with drug addiction problems and has made an impact in reducing drug related crime. The project is run by Urfan Azad and Shahid Farid, former Class A drug users who assisted a Home Office research project identifying the lack of drugs services that meet the needs of Muslim and BME communities. |
