British Muslim feared killed by Hindus in India

London, The Muslim News

A British Muslim was killed by Hindus as he was returning with three other British Muslims from visiting the Taj Mahal in Delhi on Wednesday, The Muslim News has learnt. They were in India on holiday visiting relatives. Over a hundred Muslims are reported killed by Hindus.

All four were from Batley, West Yorkshire. They were returning to Surat in Gujarat, Musa Kazi, a relative of the Britons told The Muslim News from Batley. Imran Dawood, 24, a student was injured in the attack and is hospitalised. “He told me that their mini bus was stopped and 40 to 50 people set the vehicle alight. When he got out of the minibus, they set upon him and beat him unconscious. When he gained consciousness, he found Mohammed Aswat, 42, was dead. He was stabbed to death. Shakil Dawood and Saeed Dawood, both 40, were missing,” related Kazi. The driver, who was from Gujarat, was also killed. The attack took place near Himmatnagar, 100 miles from Ahmadabad.

“We are all devastated,” Kazi, of Indian Muslim Welfare Society told The Muslim News. He added they were all well known in the community in Batley.
The Muslim News has learnt that another British Muslim may have been killed. The relatives are awaiting confirmation.
