Poets' Corner: From reality to mirage
Far off clatter of voices and distant sounds
Footsteps vibrating on this very same ground
A foray of whisper and tinkling laughter
Often echoed by crying after
Successive images race past my eyes
From happy beginnings to sad goodbyes
Visual flashes reflected onwards through time
Of confusing detail made sublime
Each frame has a story to tell
Guarded secrets now contained within a shell
Reality for now reduced to a mirage
Forgotten lives no longer with entourage
Real lives condensed in history
Reasons why remain a mystery
