Issue 284, Friday 28 December 2012 - 14 Safar 1434 Sidelining Muslims by politicians Sir, Eid receptions held by your newspaper with Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, and the interview with him, raised some important issues. Even though Muslims are the largest faith community after Christianity in London, he seems to have neglected us. The engagement has been taking place with mainly non-Muslims. It seems it is not only the Coalition Government that has been sidelining the Muslim community nationally. The Mayor has been doing the same in London with the highest Muslim population in the UK. It beggars belief. Why so much Islamophobia within the political establishment. To add to this we suffer anti Muslim anti Islam bigotry from the media and extremist group. Politicians have to answer this question. What is the reason by such hatred? We deserve an answer. It is good that The Muslim News is trying to engage with politicians to lessen such prejudice.
