Poets' Corner: Like nobody else babe
A new life just born into the world
Wonder if the bees know and the birds?
Girl or boy, the difference is the same
Both must participate in life’s mysterious game
Why was it born at this particular moment in time?
Perhaps there’s a significance ever so sublime
Is every soul really that unique?
Why is it born so humble and meek?
Is destiny wrapped around its neck?
Or allowed to overtake only if unchecked?
What will this babe with the wide world share?
Will it be of those who really care?
Born today so innocent and sweet
On a prefixed date to become like dead meat
Oh dear what a terrible thought!
But worse still is the soul is brought
From babe to adult seems such a long time
Really it will pass in the blinking of an eye
As the final curtain falls, the Creator will greet!
A reminder that will render the bitter so sweet
For now let’s celebrate this auspicious day
Welcome new arrival in the cradle to lay!
Let’s come together to rejoice and pray
That this child grows up in the natural way
