Leeds Muslim to lay memorial wreaths in London

A delegation of Muslims from Leeds are visiting London on Sunday afternoon to lay wreaths at the four sites of the 7/7 bombings, The Muslim News has exclusively learnt.

The delegation, which is being organised by the Leeds Islamic Centre, includes members from various sections of the local community in the city. It is being met by representatives of the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB), who will join them in paying their respects to the more than 50 innocent people that lost their lives in the atrocities.

Prayers are being offered at the sites as Muslims again stand in solidarity with the people of London in firm commitment against terrorism.

The visit is being preceded on Saturday by MCB holding their next round of meetings with Muslim communities in Leeds, where two of four suspects identified by police come from. MCB representatives first toured the city a week after the 7/7 attacks to meet with shocked locals in order to better understand the chain of events that led to the horrific bombings.
