Philippines: Six killed, one missing in Christmas fire in Philippine capital

MANILA, (Xinhua): At least six people were killed in two separate fires that razed residential areas in San Juan and Quezon Cities in Metro Manila of the Philippines on Christmas Day, local media reported.

Quoting a report of Bureau of Fire Protection, a local television said as of Tuesday noon, six bodies have been found in an eight-door apartment in Quezon city. One victim remains missing in the fire which took place at around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.

In San Juan City, a fire started shortly after 2:25 a.m. Police said at least 2,000 families were affected by the fire.

The fires have been put out and investigations into the cause of the two fires is underway.
