| Awards for Excellence Citizen Organising Foundation (COF)
Citizen Organising Foundation (COF) is based in London but has helped Muslim causes throughout the UK. It is a primary national training institute in the UK, promoting broad based citizen organising. Over the past ten years, COF has supported the development of six broad based coalitions of local institutions like mosques, churches, schools and tenant groups. COF trains leaders through workshops, seminars and national training opportunities and campaigns - its latest campaign is on issues concerned with 'financial exclusion' and an Islamic bank to be registered in the UK. It has also helped the Somali community to be better recognised and resourced in Liverpool and is acting to persuade Wolverhampton Council to improve its service to Muslims accessing burial services. |
