Awards for Excellence

Yusuf Sidat

Yusuf Sidat, who came to the event even though he was down with flu and had just set for exams, receiving the award said: “I have been training since I have been five. My family have supported me through thick and thin. Since I started my hifz classes I have done well in tournaments. I thank Allah for giving me this gift. I felt proud to be awarded in front of other more talented people.”

Yusuf Sidat is the youngest member of the ‘Desert Hawks’ martial arts team in Leicester. Aged fifteen, he holds numerous British regional and grand championship titles as well as two world crowns. Yusuf has also represented Britain in the world championships held by the Freestyle International Kickboxing Association and the World United Martial Arts Association. He is memorising the Qur’an and topped his class in his last hifz examinations.
