Kasim Abid
Kasim Abid is a pioneering Iraqi-born film director whose work explores the complex and painful theme of exile. Iraqi Women: Voices from Exile was screened on Channel 4 in 1993 and his powerful documentary on the life and work of assassinated Palestinian artist, Naji Al-Ali, brought him critical acclaim. Kasim, who lives in north west London, works on Arab and Palestinian TV and runs filming courses in Britain and Jerusalem and more recently Baghdad. Back to awards index |
