Kasim Abid

Kasim Abid is a pioneering Iraqi-born film director whose work explores the complex and painful theme of exile. Iraqi Women: Voices from Exile was screened on Channel 4 in 1993 and his powerful documentary on the life and work of assassinated Palestinian artist, Naji Al-Ali, brought him critical acclaim. Kasim, who lives in north west London, works on Arab and Palestinian TV and runs filming courses in Britain and Jerusalem and more recently Baghdad.
