Awards for Excellence
Salman Hafez
Salman demonstrates excellence in his school and madrasah studies without compromising one over the other. Between the ages of 9-13, he memorised the Qur'an and at the same time secured a place at the prestigious Heckmondwike Grammar School. In 2002, Salman, who lives in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, won The Albirr Foundation Holy Qur'an competition and the following year, aged 13, achieved GCSE Latin A*. Now 15, Salman recently represented Britain in the 26th Annual King Abdul Aziz Holy Qur'an competition in Saudi Arabia. Salman's ambition is to study at Oxford University and learn Arabic in an Islamic country. Back to awards index |
