Tanzeem Wasti
Tanzeem Wasti, who lives in New Malden, Surrey, helped found the UK Islamic Mission in the early 1960s, which aimed to give Muslims in Britain an identity. He is a prominent member of UKIM and the Muslim Council of Britain, working to establish community programmes and represent the views of British Muslims. He organised a youth conference in 2003, attended by over 600 representatives from local government in a bid to bridge the gap between Muslims and these establishments.
