| Awards for Excellence Vanessa Redgrave
An Oscar-winning actress, Vanessa Redgrave has volunteered her time and advocacy to human rights causes. In 1977, she produced The Palestinians and has campaigned for 30 years for peace and justice in the Middle East. In 2004, she launched a UNICEF measles immunisation campaign in the Occupied Territories. She has travelled to many war-torn countries including Kosova and Somalia and has brought world attention to the human rights abuses in Chechnya and Guantanamo Bay. She is co-founder of the Guantanamo Human Rights Commission. |
