Pakistan: Quetta carnage suo motu case hearing underway

ISLAMABAD, (The News): The Supreme Court began hearing the Quetta carnage suo motu case with the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heading the bench.

During proceedings the Chief Justice remarked, that 89 people of the Hazara community were killed in Saturday's bombing, and a similar explosion had occurred earlier as well. The Chief Justice asked the Balochistan Advocate General how many accused had been arrested?



The Chief Justice said that the government remained inactive and asked the AG if this was the performance of the government? He further added that Article 9 of the constitution not being followed.
